Health & Safety Coordinator

Our client, a leading Infrastructure Construction company with projects worldwide, is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team in Fort St John, BC.

Here is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company in an exciting industry. Reporting to the Safety Manager and working daily with Operations/Project Management – the successful candidate will be the main contact for HSE issues onsite;

Responsibilities:
- Assisting Workers, Supervisors, Managers and Leadership in performing hazard assessments, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and assessing compliance to applicable legislation;
- Safety orientation sessions for new employees;
- Conduct Incident Investigations and develop HSE performance measures;
- Working with Client and Safety Manager to complete: Project Safety Plans, Hazard/Risk Registries, Critical Risk Protocols, and HSE Audits;

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of best practices in HS&E in British Columbia;
- Experience conducting incident investigations, audits, and proficiency/experience;
- Experience creating HS&E training materials;
- Strong understanding of HS&E and Workers Compensation Board requirements;
- 3 – 5 years as an HS&E practitioner in the Construction work environment (preference in heavy civil);
- First aid (Training Level 3 or equivalent);
