Start date: ASAP: May / June '26
Job purpose
The main function of this job is to protect and enhance the safety of our employees through prevention, and to foster a culture of learning, to achieve a best in class EHS performance. The employee is expected to support, influence and lead various efforts and initiatives and act as a coach and trusted advisor to local leadership, providing support and technical assistance in the administration of and compliance with federal, state, local, and company EHS requirements.
Challenges
Because of the need to interact and communicate with many different departments internally and companies externally, appropriate processes need to be complied with.
Functional duties
- This is a position based on responsibility of local and company's EHS regulations.
- Solutions for complex problems of a technical and/or safety nature must be found in short term with local team and technicians.
- Oversee the local EHS management system and compliance with Caterpillar’s EHS standards and local regulations
- Drives local implementation of divisional safety strategy
- Build and continuously develop HOP capability in leaders of all functions in the organization
- Manage / lead the incident investigation process, including analysing potential serious injuries
- Work closely with EHS team to ensure critical risk management concepts are realisable on site and discuss / share with local team
- Work closely with service team, EHS team and engineering to support technicians with new tools, working processes or equipment
- Perform regular risk assessments and EHS audits and support during WorkInsight-Walks
- Collect and report EHS metrics to Corporate and Division EHS
- Assessment of yearly RVA and EHS processe
- Manage and oversees the building and office security
Qualifications
- HVK (Hoger Veiligheidskunde) / Higher Safety Expert
- Higher professional education (Bachelor) working and thinking level.
- At least several years of experience in QHSE within a technical or industrial environment, knows how to engage colleagues in a pragmatic and motivating way, good conversational partner for both board members and technicians, experience with management systems in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, structured worker, maintains an overview.
- Proficient in Dutch and English.
Further Qualifications
- SAP (ERP system) knowledge
- Technical knowledge of gas engines
- Safety trainings (e.g. fire prevention, first aid, etc.)
