Our client is a global supplier of premium welding solutions for offshore and onshore pipelines and fabrication.
The Mechanic is responsible for preventative maintenance and refurbishment of all hydraulic and pneumatic equipment within the North American region.
Main duties/responsibilities
- Health, Safety and Environmental requirements shall be met in all activities.
- You are responsible for ensuring that you are working safely, that you have the appropriate tools and equipment for the job, and that you protect the environment. and fellow employees. You shall take this responsibility seriously and work towards continual improvements.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance and refurbishment of all hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining, repairing and updating all pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, including but not limited to Pipe Facing Machines, Hydraulic Power Units and Internal Line-Up Clamps.
- Provide minimum welding and fabrication techniques.
- Responsible for commissioning equipment to be used on projects.
- Responsible for troubleshooting equipment under a stressful environment, and difficult work conditions, depending on job location.
- Responsible for assisting tool box meetings.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
- Position may require domestic and international travel.

- Knowledge on installation, troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Controls operations of equipment or systems
- Conducts tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected
- Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly, used to work with metric measurements
- Determines what is causing a default and decides action to take
- Strong team-player with excellent reporting and interpersonal skills, able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language company
- Able to travel to jobsites when needed
- Able to read mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic drawings
- Demonstrates excellent English language skills, other languages are a plus
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma required
- Two years specialized technical training is preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university is preferred
- 5 to 7 years mechanical experience with in the oil, gas, and pipeline industry
- Welding (boilmaker) experience
Must be willing to travel 75% to 95% of the time.
