Payroll Supervisor
We currently seek a high caliber Payroll Supervisor for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Los Angeles, CA
Job Requirements:
- Responsible for processing weekly payroll and other related services including recordkeeping, reporting, prevailing wage, certified payroll, garnishments, deductions and payroll taxes, etc.
- Expected to meet all daily and weekly payroll deadlines with accuracy
- Responsible for tracking Daily Timesheets for Craft/Union Employees (Input, Review and Approvals) in HCSS/Heavy Job and ADP. This requires daily interaction and coordination with timesheet reviews and approvers e.g. Field engineers, Foreman and Superintendents.
- Monitor any errors in timesheets submitted by running and analyzing reports in Heavy Job thoroughly. Communicate and follow up in a timely manner with superintendents, field engineers, and foreman to correct any discrepancies found on timesheets.
- Efficiently run the payroll process; export and import all labor hours from Heavy Job to E-Time and ADP; ensure all labor hours reconcile in aforementioned systems.
- Process and set up direct deposit enrollments and Federal and State withholdings, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information accurate and confidential.
- Run various monthly payroll reports and make corrections as require
- Prepare Certified Payroll Reports and other payroll related documents and reports
- Reconcile monthly employee deductions for union dues, complete monthly union dues filings, reconciliation and process union contribution payments.
- Prepare check requests for all union payments for processing through ADP, including the union remittance report and corresponding back-up
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Assist Accounting team with reconciliation of the payroll general ledger.
- Evaluate payroll process and implement process improvements.
- System Administrator for Heavy Job including training new foreman for timesheet submittal process
- Train and supervise Payroll/Accounting Technician
- Prepare IRS Form W-2's annually
- Acts as liaison to the company for all payroll-related questions and issues while maintaining a strong customer service approach.
- Responsible for responding (in coordination with Human Resources) to worker’s compensation request for information,
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience working in a construction environment with union project labor agreements.
- Must have extensive knowledge of ADP Payroll Systems and Reporting Programs such as E-Time application as well as HCSS Construction Software / Heavy Job experience.
- Must have experience with the City of Los Angeles Online Certified Payroll System (OCPS) and LCPTracker
