Plant Manager
We currently seek a high caliber Plant Manager for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Pulaski, Tennessee.

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-oriented Plant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our foundry. The foundry supplies critical wear consumables to the mining aggregate and cement industry.

The role requires a strong leader who thrives in a high-pressure environment. This position is vital to driving operational excellence, ensuring on-time delivery of quality products, and leading the plant towards best-in-class performance.

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, cost efficiency, supply chain coordination, safety, and employee development. The individual must be able to effectively implement strategic initiatives and maintain focus on improving productivity and competitiveness, all while ensuring adherence to high safety standards.


Job Requirements:
  • Leadership & Strategy: Provide strong leadership to the plant team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee production operations, ensuring optimal output levels, minimal downtime, and efficient use of resources to meet production schedules.
  • Quality Management: Maintain and improve quality standards to ensure consistent production of high-quality wear consumables, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Develop and manage plant budgets, implementing cost-saving initiatives and maintaining tight control over operational expenditures to ensure cost leadership.
  • Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure raw materials and consumables are available to meet production demand, while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Lead safety initiatives to minimize incidents and enhance security protocols.
  • Maintenance: Lead proactive maintenance programs to ensure plant equipment is fully operational, minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of critical machinery.
  • Human Resources & Team Development: Manage, mentor, and develop the plant workforce, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across all teams. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead process improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing techniques, or other industry best practices to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and drive innovation.

Qualifications:
  Technical Skill, Education, & Key Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related tecfoufhnical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a plant manager, with a proven track record of running foundry operations.
  • Experience in foundry operations is essential. Disa and/or no-bake production line experience is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including casting, heat treatment, and related technologies.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and lead large teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and implement operational improvements.
  • Strong presence and influence as a leader to drive cultural and operational improvements.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on productivity, quality, and cost optimization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and navigate operational challenges effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and compliant workplace.
