Our client is a leading organization in the marine industry, recognized globally for delivering innovative solutions to the boating and boat‑building market. With a strong history of award‑winning products and a recent expansion into electrified marine technologies, the organization continues to shape the future of recreational and commercial boating—making it safer, smarter, and more enjoyable.
As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a passionate Product Designer – Electrical to join their Vancouver-based team. This role reports to the Electrical Design Manager and plays a key part in developing next‑generation marine products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical circuit design, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout and routing using Altium Designer (or equivalent ECAD tools)
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation such as PCBA engineering specifications, drawings, and test reports
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by collaborating with cross‑functional teams including Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Automation Engineering
- Lead and participate in design reviews and conduct validation and qualification testing (EMC, EFT, and other automotive/marine qualification testing)
- Work closely with embedded firmware teams to select appropriate microcontrollers and implement robust electronic designs
- Provide cost and schedule estimates for new projects and support research and development initiatives
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product designs to ensure continuity across a changing supply chain
- Conduct independent testing of existing products to identify continuous improvements, reduce field failures, and optimize costs
