This position will start as soon as feasibly possible, 6 month rolling contract.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Role and Responsibilities will include:
Acknowledged technical expert and focal point for all Quality related matters on the Project
Draft, develop and implement governing Project Quality Plans (PQP) to manage, monitor and
measure quality of delivered projects
Prepare Employer's Quality Requirements as part of the tender material and final contracts
Support the Contract tendering process from a quality assurance perspective including evaluation
of incoming tenders and assist in clarification meetings with suppliers prior to contract award
Contribute to the assessment of the suppliers' ability to meet the quality requirements
Assess required quality resources in the project and each project sub‐delivery
Prepare overall project audit and inspection schedule
Responsible for the preparation of the following quality documents:
o Quality Plan (QP), detailing the quality activities on each project sub‐delivery
o Quality Activity Schedule (QAS) detailing all major quality activities planned within the
project scope, e.g. defining level of quality control inspections, first article
inspections (FAI), audits, factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests
(SAT)
Reviewing Quality documentation, including documents originated by Contractors.
Assist the Project Manager and the Package Managers in defining interfaces where handover
inspections are required
Provide support for Requests for Information (RFI) and Technical Queries (TQ’s) between SSE /
stakeholders by means of defined communication process.
Maintain a non‐conformity register (NCR) for the project and assist the project team in handling
NCRs
Ensure that all works undertaken comply with company standards and/or any project specific
specification or instructions.
Report to the Project Manager on quality assurance/quality control progress in a systematic
manner, with input from project leads and assigned QC personnel
Responsible for the planning and execution of all project QA audits and in defining the extent of
quality inspections; detailed in the QAS
Conduct Audits and surveillances of activities supporting the Project Quality Plan and Contractors
Quality Plans / Inspection & Test Plans.
Assisting Project staff conducting Audit and Surveillance visits to Manufacturers and Contractors
on and off site as required.
Promote procedural use and adherence with documented arrangements to ensure alignment
with SSE Management System protocols.
Promotion of quality awareness through quality awareness training sessions.
Facilitation of Lessons Learned workshops and knowledge sharing across the project
Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members in relation to all Quality elements
Provide support for the control of all documentation transfer between Client, Customer,
Contractors and other associated Project stakeholders.
Provide support for the Governance, oversight and control of Project documentation from initial
Document Reference status through formal Issue to Handover of Life Time Records.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
We are looking for someone who has extensive Quality Assurance experience within large complex
offshore wind projects.
HNC / HND / Degree qualified.
Five years of relevant QA management
Certified Lead Auditor to ISO 9001_2015
Demonstrable experience and understanding of the Quality function, supporting large projects /
programmes within highly regulated industries.
Relevant experience in offshore wind through all phases of the project
Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with Clients and Contractors
Good communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence others including building and
maintaining effective relationships with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrable experience in monitoring Contractor activities through to completion / hand over,
including management of non‐conformities.
