We seek a Transmission Line Engineer for our client on a direct or contract hire basis. The ideal candidate will be involved with a wide range of challenging and high-impact transmission projects from greenfield line development and storm hardening to renewable energy interconnections and voltage upgrades. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Boston, MA.
Job Requirements:
- Perform detailed design and engineering for overhead transmission and sub-transmission lines, including structure and foundation design, conductor/optical ground wire hardware selection, and line routing.
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and bill of materials.
- Use industry-standard tools such as PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE/TOWER, MFAD for line design and modeling.
- Conduct structural analysis, loading calculations, and clearance verifications.
- Collaborate with civil, environmental, permitting, real estate, survey department, control center, substation, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs comply with industry codes, and client-specific standards.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in transmission line engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of transmission line design tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE/TOWER, or MFAD.
- Understanding of industry codes and standards.
- EIT required
