An amazing opportunity is now available for a Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design, specification, and engineering of mechanical equipment, rotating machinery, static equipment, HVAC, and utility systems in EPC/EPCM projects. This role is based in Johannesburg.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop mechanical design calculations, datasheets, and specifications.

• Design pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, piping layout input, and package equipment.

• Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.

• Coordinate with piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and process teams.

• Support inspections, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities.

• Ensure design compliance with ASME, API, ISO, and local regulatory requirements.

• Perform mechanical handling studies, lifting requirements, and equipment logistics assessments.

• Prepare equipment lists, MTOs, and cost/schedule inputs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

• 5–10+ years mechanical engineering experience in industrial projects.

• Familiarity with mechanical design software (PV Elite, HTRI, Caesar II inputs, etc.).

• Professional registration is advantageous.
