We are looking for highly qualified Procurement Director with knowledge from the Renewable Energy, Offshore Wind, and/or Infrastructure industry to join our team in the US (Boston) and become part of a global team.
The role will see you manage the procurement activities in the project including the procurement strategies across all packages, local supply chain strategies in support of bid development/offtake, procurement schedule to maintain project timelines, and manage a team of skilled contract managers and legal advisors
Areas of responsibility
• Develop and execute procurement and contract management strategies to secure value optimization and offtake (e.g., local content), and bankability of the project
• Develop, manage and execute commercial and contract management activities to secure safe, timely, high-quality and cost-efficient delivery of the project
• Develop and maintain key supplier relations within the project(s)
• Ensure delivery of consistent, timely and high-quality reporting, presentations, and recommendations towards each procurement decision-gate
• Lead contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, and liaise with legal department and other subject matter experts
• Ensure the commercial close of contracts and agree final account closure of all payments, claims and variations
• Facilitate alignment and knowledge-sharing across other packages and projects to ensure consistency
Your profile
The ideal candidate(s) has relevant senior experience from a similar position in a large offshore construction project ideally within offshore wind. Experience with contracting of vessels, electrical equipment and/or complex steel structures is also of relevance.
In addition, we expect that you have the following qualifications:
• Experience and understanding of large projects, the ability to work in the interface between technical, commercial and legal aspects and a strong sense of value and risk drivers and understanding of how a project can be successfully delivered
• Significant experience of supply chain development within large scale projects in upcoming markets - experience within offshore wind or similar industries is preferred
• Business acumen and strong negotiation skills
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver the results within budget
• In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
• Good team player with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Strategic thinker, with an eye for details
