Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical assessments and rock mass characterization.
- Design and monitor ground support systems for underground and surface operations.
- Perform stability analyses and hazard identification.
- Collaborate with mine planning, ventilation, and safety teams to ensure integrated solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Provide on-site support and guidance during excavation and construction phases.
Qualification and Skills Requirements:
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field.
- Professional registration (e.g., ECSA) is an advantage.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering within the mining sector.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Rocscience Suite, FLAC, Phase2).
- Strong understanding of rock mechanics, slope stability, and underground excavation support.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
